In recent news, major airlines have come under scrutiny for charging certain disabled passengers double the fare when flying from the UK.

According to a report by the BBC, nearly 30 carriers were contacted, revealing that passengers with mobility issues are required to buy a full-price ticket for a personal care assistant (PA).

This practice persists despite the Civil Aviation Authority's guidance, based on EU law and maintained by the UK post-Brexit, which calls on airlines to provide subsidies for such situations. Consequently, disabled individuals facing mobility challenges are denouncing this policy as discriminatory.

The matter has sparked concern among the public and raises important questions about the treatment of disabled passengers by airlines.
