In a thrilling match between Japan and Spain, Japan emerged victorious with a score of 4-0.
The match took place at Wellington Regional Stadium. Japan produced a classic counter-attacking performance to thrash Spain and win Group C.
Hinata Miyazawa scored twice, while Riko Ueki and Mina Tanaka scored one goal each. With this win, Japan has set up a last 16 tie against Norway.
This was one of the great counter-attacking performances from Japan, who were as near to perfection as dammit. Despite having almost 80% of the ball possession, Spain was unable to convert their possession into goals and created very little.
